What is the Mysore style Ashtanga yoga practice?

The Mysore style is the traditional way of teaching Ashtanga Yoga. The style originates from Mysore city in South India and was started and developed there by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois where till today his grandson R. Sharath Jois still shares his knowledge of yoga to the students from around the world.
It empowers you to cultivate a deeper connection with your body and breath.
In Mysore Style room all levels practice together and enjoy a unique energy.

How often and how long should I practice Mysore yoga?

Traditionally this style is practiced 6 days a week. Consistency is a very important aspect, you will find that the more often you practice, the more you will be able to enjoy the positive effects of your practice. Ashtanga practice takes place in the morning. You can choose a time to come to the class within the time frame given depending on how long your personal practice is.
Usually beginners start with 45-60 minutes practice. As soon as they able to memorize the sequence taught to them and develop strength and flexibility, practice grows and can be stretched to 1,5-2 hours.
The beauty of the system is that students can adjust the schedule to their lifestyle or current state.
